New Announcements

A Baltimore Rheumatologist does direct dictation into a PC located in his office using a hand-held Philips SpeechMike. WFS provided the Dragon NaturallySpeaking software and our Rheumatology vocabulary and 3 days of setup and training. He now dictates his Dexa Scan Report (Bone Density), Initial Consultative Report, Follow Up letters and SOAP Notes. He has totally eliminated the outside transcription service and is saving approx. $1,000 per month. Additional postage savings is realized by faxing all reports and correspondence as well as the letterhead cost. Installed in December 1999.

An Arlington, VA Rheumatologist acquired a new PC and dictates directly to it with the hand-held Philips SpeechMike. He dictates his SOAP Notes, Scan Reports and correspondence. All work is completed the same day and outside transcription services have been eliminated. Installed in December 1999.

A very busy Los Angeles, CA Rheumatologist sees upwards of 60 patients per day. He dictates directly into his office PC using a hand-held Philips SpeechMike. WFS furnished the Dragon and Rheumatology vocabulary software. Considerable effort was spent in designing and developing voice macros to maintain dictation throughput as to not inhibit his productivity. Installed in December 1999.

The Pathology Department at a CT hospital uses an AP Laboratory Management System (WindoPath). WFS installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking software together with our Pathology Vocabulary onto a PC workstation to permit hands-free diagnostic dictation by the pathologist while at the microscope. The initial installation was considered a pilot program and has been in use for over 6 months. Another workstation is being planned for speech recognition and an additional pathologist will be trained.

Some of our other Customers

An Endocrinologist in private practice who was spending $12,000 per year with an outside transcription service. After reorganizing the workflow, he now dictates into a portable tape recorder and  his receptionist plays the tape into an office PC with  speech recognition software and our Endocrinology Vocabulary installed.  She proof reads the dictation and prints the documents for his sign-off.  All work is current daily and the savings equal the previous expenditures. This site was installed in 1997.

A neighborhood non-profit agency obtained a federal and state grant to create a local computer center. A 20 workstation network was layed out and all facility cabling installed and terminated to each PC. A file server and 20 Pentium PC were furnished by WFS. The LAN workstations were configured so each could have access to the Internet over an installed ISDN circuit. Installed in 1998

A local Podiatrist uses a PC at home and the office for direct dictation of his notes and correspondence. He uses speech recognition and our Podiatry Vocabulary.  He does his own proof reading and correction or editing.  He is presently training his partner to also use the office system. Installed in 1998.

An east coast educational instruction firm retained WFS to install and configure an IBM PC server for their office. The company was assisted in Internet setup and Domain name registration. The server is intended to be used to maintain communication with teachers in the field and to transfer reports and student assesments. It is predicted that considerable savings can be realized by use of Internet mail instead of telephone and/or facsimile communications. Installed in 1997.

A Florida Gastroenterologist spends $60,000 per year in outside transcribing services for three physicians. We have set up an internal process which will reduce his expense to $20,000 (the wages of an internal transcriptionist) using tape recorders, speech recognition software, our Gastroenterology Vocabulary and dedicating a PC to this activity. Installed in 1998

A hospital Biostatistician client is a highly motivated user of speech recognition because of an elbow problem. She has learned to voice enable all her MS Office applications and uses a telephone/computer headset switch box to permit phone use or dictation into the computer without removing the mic headset. Installed in 1998

A Surgery Dispatcher/Analyst at an area hospital was furnished a speech recognition system by her employer because she was on the verge of going on workman's compensation because of Carpal Tunnel in both wrists. Her work was analyzed and simplified to eliminate redundancy.  She is now able to significantly reduce her keyboard entry with verbal data entry and text formatting.  As a result of the reduced stress on her wrists, she is continues in her job, takes less medication and no longer wears wrist splints. In use since 1998.

A local hospital Pathology Department contracted with us to provide a turnkey Anatomic/Pathology Records Management System using an IBM Netfinity 5000 Server configured for RAID SQL Server database manager and enhanced with speech recognition to permit hands-free Gross and Diagnostic dictation by the pathologists.  The project is underway and a 4 workstation Windows NT LAN has been implemented.
