The physician no longer pays any outside transcription service and all work is done the same day. Savings are $12,000 per year. Installed in 997.

  • Rheumatologist - Pittsburgh, PA
Does both Tape Dictation as well as Direct Dictation. Installed in Fall 2000. Four additional doctors will be trained in the near future.

Direct to PC Dictation

  • Pathologist - Middletown, CT
The Pathology Department uses an AP Laboratory Management System (WindoPath). WFS installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking software together with our Pathology Vocabulary onto a PC workstation to permit hands-free diagnostic dictation by the pathologist while at the microscope. The initial installation was considered a pilot program and has been in use for over 6 months. Another workstation is being planned for speech recognition and an additional pathologist will be trained.  Installed in 1999.

  • Pathology Department Head - Westfield, MA
The hospital has contracted with WFS to acquire a turnkey AP Records Management System (an SQL client - server, windows based database manager) using WindoPath from Psyche Systems, Wellesley, MA.  WFS speech enabled WindoPath to permit hands-free Gross and Diagnostic dictation by the pathologist. The project has been in use at a 3 workstation system implementation.  Installed in the spring of 1999.

  • Biostatistician - Springfield, MA

He does all proof reading and correction or editing. John is presently training his partner to use the office system. Installed in 1997.

  • Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Practice - Holyoke, MA
Acquired a dictation PC system from another vendor using Dragon NaturallySpeaking and realized savings approaching $30,000 per year over outside transcription services. We contacted the doctor relative to our development of orthopedic and chiropractic vocabularies. Consultative services were provided to improve the dictation performance of the staff. A refined chiropractic vocabulary was developed with the use of the existing records and documents. This has permitted more accurate recognition by the software and less correction by the physicians.  Services performed in January, 1999.

  • Rheumatologist - Baltimore, MD
Does direct dictation into a PC located in his office using a handheld Philips SpeechMike. WFS provided the Dragon NaturallySpeaking software and our Rheumatology vocabulary and 3 days of setup and training. He now dictates his Dexa Scan Report (Bone Density), Initial Consultative Report, Follow Up letters and SOAP Notes. He has totally eliminated the outside transcription service and is saving approx. $1,000 per month. Additional postage and letterhead cost savings is realized by faxing all reports and correspondence. Installed in December, 1999.

  • Rheumatologist - Alexandria, VA

  • Rheumatologist - Downey, CA
A very busy physician who sees upwards of 60 patients per day. Dictates directly into his office PC using a handheld Philips SpeechMike. • Rheumatology Practice Manager - Edina, MN
This installation started as a Pilot Program for one or two doctors over 3 days. The project grew to include all eight doctors in the practice. The cost of implementing speech recognition and developing automation scripts was less than half the $95,000 per year being spent annually for outside transcribing services. This work was designed to use automation scripts so as to not add to the existing work load of the present internal staff.  Installed May/June 2000.

  • Endocrinologist - Rochester, NY
Based upon what he saw at the Endocrinology Society show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in  late June, this physician retained us to better document his patient charts and letters. He had experience with another speech recognition product but was not using it for his day-to-day work. We trained him over three days for our pilot program cost.  He is also using a Philips SpeechMike handheld mic in lieu of the headset.  Installed July 2000.

  • Arthritis Clinic - Greenville, SC
This 4 physician practice contracted with us in the Spring of 2000. Two of the doctors are using notebook PCs and the others are dictating to desktop PCs located in their respective offices. Automated command scripts were developed and recently enhanced in March 2001. All dictation is formatted and letters to referring physicians are generated without any clerical staff effort. The doctor’s dictation is completely done, printed and filed by the end of each day.
